For its Lab on the Palais Augmenté, ISEA2023 and Le Cube Garges put forward the theme of Symbiosis. This Lab will allow to discover in virtual reality the augmented catalog of ISEA, a space of sociability and exhibition allowing to discover the work of more than 80 international digital artists selected for ISEA2023.
In addition, it will feature the work Trash Dwellers by the duo Xenoangel (Marija Avramovic & Sam Twidale), also selected for ISEA2023. Trash Dwellers is a transmedia storytelling project describing the emergence of new communities in oceanic waste areas. It consists of an interactive animation, a VR experience, and a series of hybrid ceramic sculptures. Finally, the phygital mask (3D printing and augmented reality) Meta Masóxi by Damara Inglês. This project is the result of what Damara describes as a process of "re- artification". This is a new kind of post-digital craft in which new technologies are used to reproduce or reactivate ancient artifacts, in this case Tchokwé ritual masks.
